VW Genuine Oil Filter cleans the engine oil

Genuine Volkswagen Oil Filters

Oil filters clean circulating engine oil of dust, metal abrasion debris, carbon and soot particles, allowing only oil that is free from residues to reach lubrication points and bearing positions. This prevents wear and contributes to a long engine life. With the oil filter, both the oil quality and engine performance are preserved, as well as its economic viability.

Your benefits
  • Firm seat:
Also with temperature and pressure fluctuations.
  • No leakage:

Engine oil warning lights

Here, you’ll find an overview of the engine oil warning lights – so you know what you have to do. Further information is available in your owner’s manual.

  • Yellow VW warning light: Engine oil level too low or engine oil level faulty

    Yellow oil can symbol

This warning light indicates that the engine oil level is too low or there is a problem with the engine oil system.

    • Illuminated:
Engine oil level is too low.
Switch off the engine and check the oil level.
    • Flashing:
      Engine oil system faulty.
Visit a specialist and have the engine oil sensor checked.
  • Red VW warning light: Engine oil pressure too low

    Red oil can symbol

If this symbol is illuminated, the engine pressure is too low. In this case, you should:

    • Switch off the engine and measure the oil level.
    • Is the light still flashing? To avoid any damages, switch off the engine immediately and seek assistance from a professional.

Measuring the oil level correctly

Even the best engine oil needs the correct fill level to protect your engine. If there is too little oil, metal rubs against metal and can damage the engine. If there is too much, it may get into the combustion chamber and damage the catalytic converter. So make sure you check the oil level on a regular basis. Read here about how to measure it correctly.
